Dangers of a high protein diet

Friends, I have been a vegan for twenty five years. I learned about the dangers of meat eating while research-ing the best diet to feed my firstborn daughter, Giana. I had tried so many diets over the years, since I owned two health food stores in California, and competed in bodybuilding. There were many high protein diets and shakes that I consumed in my hopes of packing on more muscle and size.

       The Atkins High Protein Diet was already popular when I bought my first health food store, Artesian Health Foods II, in Tracy, CA. I remember his book, The Diet Revolution, that was advocating a diet mostly from high-protein foods like beef, chicken, luncheon meats, cheese, and dairy products, and low amounts of carbohydrates. 
       The Cambridge and Beverly Hills Diet were two more popular high-protein diets that came in easy-to-make shakes. Some were marketed as meal replacements. The high-protein craze started gaining momentum even earlier when Charles Atlas advertisements graced magazines. The cartoon-like sketch depicted a puny guy named Charles relaxing on the beach with his girlfriend, when a big bully harasses the two of them and kicked sand in his face. Charles Atlas is then shown beefing-up with weights, and after putting on pounds of solid muscle, he returns later and defends his girlfriend from the bully by punching him in the face. Young men were sold that protein makes you big, strong, and very tough.

       Then everyone remembers Steve Reeves, who played the role of the first Hercules, clad with amazing pecs and biceps. Then came Arnold Schwarz-enegger, 7-time Mr. Olympia, and considered the greatest bodybuider of all time. I remember the time I drove to L.A. just to meet him and watch him workout. I couldn't take my eyes off his his 22-inch arms. I remember saying, "His arm is bigger than my head."

       Protein, protein, protein was the chant from the Weider Brothers who published the ever-popular Muscle Magazine. Athletes, and want-a-be bodybuilders, were drinking protein shakes like the stuff was water. Even the average Joe knew protein builds big muscles, right? But at what cost?

       Then came the kidney stones and other kidney diseases due to an excess of animal protein and acid forming food. And don't be fooled when your doctor says your kidney test reveals that your creatine levels are high. I have learned that the kidneys may be trying to filter out the excess creatine. The doctor will recommend that you eat more protein, thus compounding the problem.

       More cancers in all the major organs of the body, especially the reproductive organs, soon followed. All reproductive and other female organs were effected - the prostate, testicles, breast, ovaries, and uterus - because  animal protein, like saturated fat and estrogen, fuel cancer!

       T.Colin Campbell, Ph.D. from Cornell University, proved this in the largest epidemiological study ever done on diet and disease. He learned that the Chinese, living in rural China, consume only 10% of their calories from animal protein, in comparison, Americas eat as much as 70% of their calories from animal protein. Charlotte Gerson taught me that animal protein causes tumors to grow, especially casein from dairy products.

       Dr. T. Colin Campbell published his findings in his bestseller, The China Study, a book I consider to be the most important book on the subject of diet and disease.

        From all the information I had studied on the subject of diet and disease, I knew, and had warned the people listening to my weekly radio program for 12 years called Healthline, that the day would come when Americans would learn that animal protein, not animal fat, is the number one carcinogen in the United States.

       Who would have thought that the meat and dairy you consume is causing and feeding cancer in the human body? And forget about hormone-free animal meat. Hormone-free meats are still too high in animal protein.

       I want to thank Dr. T. Colin Campbell for speaking at two of Modern Manna Health and healing Crusades, and warning the thousands that attended that an animal-based diet can cause cancer and many other diseases like osteoporosis, high blood pressure, and kidney disease. On the other hand, the diet God gave us in the beginning, a whole plant-based diet, protects us from the ravages of cancer and other chronic diseases.

Are pharmaceutical drugs the answer to your health problems?

I received a call from a retired Dentist named Joe this morning who asked if I would write about the dangers of drugs. He specifically pointed to Revelation 18:23, 24: And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth."

 

In the Greek, the word for sorceries is pharmakeia, which means, according to Strong's Concordance, "medication (pharmacy), magic, sorcery, witchcraft."

 

I have been in natural medicine and alternative health for over 25 years. I am not going to argue whether a person should take a drug for an emergency crisis or anaesthesia before surgery, but I will argue the wholesale marketing of drugs, the deaths and damage caused by many prescription drugs, and the huge profits raked in by the pharmaceutical drug cartels.

 

I have sat across many chemotherapy patients and listened to their shocking, horror stories regarding failed cancer treatments. The sad look in their faces after the chemotherapy and radiation had failed again! Here are some of the statements I often hear from the victims: "The doctor's sounded so hopeful, and I believed him;" "He said he had clear margins after my lumpectomy, why is the cancer back;" "If I had known what my arm would feel like I would have never had the lymph nodes removed;" or "If you don't take the chemotherapy you will die." 

 

Last week, I spoke to a doctor who was looking for alternative treatment centers for his nephew who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He admitted that modern-medicine offers little, if any, hope for his nephew's case. When the patient's wife asked the oncologist about alternative therapies as a possible treatment protocol, the doctor turned red in his face and blurted out, "They don't work." It reminded me of my discussion with the doctor at 3ABN after I was cancelled for quoting Dr. Max Gerson and other natural healers, and my promoting colon cleansing. "There is no scientific proof to support these people," he said. "There is no science to colon cleansing."

 

But there is proof that many drugs have caused many deaths in America. The Journal of the American Medical Association reported that the third leading cause of death in this country are drugs and doctors. Iatrogenic induced death means the doctors and drugs were the cause. Charlotte Gerson once said, "More people are dying from the side-effects of the medications than from the disease itself."

 

Here are the dismal figures: 12,000 unnecessary surgeries; 7,000 medication errors in hospitals; 20,000 other errors in hospitals; 80,000 infections in hospitals; and 106,000 non-error, negative effects of drugs! 


How many reports need to be published that verify FDA-approved drugs like Vioxx and Celebrex cause heart attacks and strokes? How many reports that statin drugs cause liver damage and cancer? How many reports on the contraindications of drugs, while the drug salesmen bring more gourmet lunches to the doctor's office in order to sell them their potions? The government wants to make flu shots in New Jersey mandatory before children are admitted to school. My Italian doctor once said, "In Italy, we do not believe in injecting germs into people."

 

"Drugs never cure disease; they only change its form and location. . . . When drugs are introduced into the system, for a time they seem to have a beneficial effect. A change may take place, but the disease is not cured. It will manifest itself in some other form. . . . The disease which the drug was given to cure may disappear, but only to reappear in a new form, such as skin diseases, ulcers, painful, diseased joints, and sometimes in a more dangerous and deadly form. . . . Nature keeps struggling, and the patient suffers with different ailments, until there is a sudden breaking down in her efforts, and death follows. Healthful Living, p. 243.

 

My goal is to educate people in healthful living and lifestyle practices. We should obey God's natural laws of health and to use nature's remedies when needed. Too many people run to the doctor and take prescription drugs before giving the body a chance to correct itself. The body was designed to heal itself. At least, make drugs a last, not first, resort. I have to agree with the Lord, that most drugs are nothing more than modern-day sorceries or witch's brew and the wholesale market of dangerous prescriptions constitutes part of the deceptions of the last days. The Amazing Cucumber

This information was in The New York Times several weeks ago as part of their "Spotlight on the Home"  series that highlighted creative and fanciful ways to solve common problems.

 

1. Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1,    Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.

 

2. Feeling tired in the afternoon, put down the caffeinated soda and pick up a cucumber.  Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.

 

3. Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower?  Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror, it will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.

 

4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds?  Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long.  The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminium to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area.

 

5. Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool?  Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the photochemical in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of     cellulite.  Works great on wrinkles too!!!

11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don't have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the photochemical will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.

 

12. Looking for a 'green' way to clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel?  Take a slice of cucumber and rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine, but is won't leave streaks and won't harm you fingers or fingernails while you clean.

 

13. Using a pen and made a mistake?  Take the outside of the cucumber and slowly use it to erase the pen writing, also works great on crayons and markers that the kids have used to decorate the walls!!

Health Tips for Preventing Disease and Strengthening Your Immune System

Friends, there are a number of healthful principles you can follow to build your immune system and prevent disease. I have found when these principles are put into practice, many of the modern-day diseases that plague people begin to even reverse. I have witnessed chronic diseases like hypertension, Type II diabetes, heart disease, and autoimmune disease start healing as the body turns more alkaline and balances. Through cleansing and detoxifying flushes, eating natural, organic foods that are in the form closest to the Creator's design, and drinking pure water free of chemical additives like fluorine and chlorine, the body can begin to heal itself!

 

Please read the following list carefully and enjoy the blessings that come when we become doers of the word. Remember, practice the health laws yourself, and then preach them to others.

 

  • Eat a whole plant-based diet with lots of organic fruits and vegetables.

 

  • Avoid dairy products. Dairy is liquid meat, and any disease in the animal is most likely also in its secretions. Milk is the number-one cause of childhood anemia and allergy. I remember the late Dr. Vigil Hulse once told me that as a Milk and Dairy inspector for 13 years in California, he found 80% of the herds had cows with leukemia and 50% of the herds had cows with Bovine AIDS. This was in the county in which I live. Milk Does A Body Good?

 

  • Avoid refined sugar, white flour, and ordinary salt or sea salt. Instead choose Celtic Salt since it contains 80 minerals, not just Sodium Chloride. Celtic Salt is grey because of the magnesium which can lower blood pressure. White table salt has the magnesium removed and it is sold for things like gunpowder. Real Salt is another choice.

 

  • Exercise at least five days a week. I enjoy racquetball and weightlifting. This gives me the combination of aerobic exercise like racquetball for my heart and circulation and anaerobic exercise like weightlifting for building bone density, strength, and toning the muscles. Both forms of exercise are good and necessary for eliminating toxins through the lymph system.

 

  • Increase your consumption of pure water and drink 6 to 8 glasses a day.

 

  • Start drinking some fresh organic juice everyday if possible. Carrot, apple, celery, chard and parsley is a great immune-building formula that is high in potassium and phytochemicals.

 

  • Cleanse your elimination organs on a seasonal basis. Cleanse the colon, liver, kidney, lung, blood, lymph and skin using organic herbal formulas, saunas, skin brushing, etc.

 

  • Have a positive attitude and get moving if you feel depressed. Doing something for someone else that has a need will help heal your own discouragement.

 

  • Breathe deeply several times a day of fresh air. Take a walk in the open air.

 

  • Get 30 minutes of sunshine every day if possible.

 

  • Trust in God, spend time in prayer, and study your Bible every day.

 

  • Love your enemies and forgive those that have wronged you. Forgiveness is the key to freedom. Don't delay since Christ is coming soon!

Self detoxification using garlic

Before you go to bed at night, prepare this magic potion:

Finely chop or use the food blender to chop up two cloves of fresh garlic and let it expose to the air for a few minutes while you wash up your blender or chopping board.
The chopping releases the enzyme allinase in the garlic. Gather the chopped garlic on a spoon and swallow it with water.
The garlic will travel your entire digestive tract while you sleep and scavenge and neutralize all the toxins, carcinogens, harmful bacteria, fungi, viruses, foreign chemical before they can harm your healthy cells.


Swallowing the chopped garlic will not give you garlic breath, as long as you don't chew it. You brush your teeth and rinse your mouth before you go to bed anyway.


In the morning, drink a big glass of water. Your first bowel movement will have a strong garlic odor and you will know that the harmful stuff have been eliminated from your body. Try it, especially if you have had a bad
eating day.

A professor at CCNY  for a physiological psych class told his class about bananas.  He said the expression 'going bananas' is from the effects of  bananas on the brain. Read on:

This is  interesting.
After reading this, you'll never look at a  banana in the same way again.

Bananas contain three  natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with  fiber. A banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial  boost of energy.

Research has proven that just two bananas  provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No  wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's  leading athletes.


But energy isn't the only way a  banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or  prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions,  making it a must to add to our daily diet.



Depression:

According to a recent  survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from  depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. PMS:

Forget the pills - eat a banana. The  vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which  can affect your mood..

Hangovers:

One of the quickest ways of curing a  hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey.  The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey,  builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes  and re-hydrates your system.

Heartburn:

Bananas have a natural  antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn,  try eating a banana for soothing relief.

Ulcers:

The banana is used as the dietary food  against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and  smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without  distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes  over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of  the stomach.

Temperature control:

10 Foods You Don't Have to Buy Organic

These Fruits and Vegetables Don't Hold on to So Many Pesticides, So You Can Save Your Organic Dollars for the Ones That Do.


Asparagus

Asparagus face fewer threats from pests such as insects or disease, so fewer pesticides need to be used.

Choose: Look for firm spears with bright green or purplish compact tips. Plan on a 1/2 pound per person, and for more uniform cooking, select spears of a similar thickness. Store in the refrigerator vegetable crisper and give them a good rinse before using (even if you're going to boil them).

Avocados

Avocados have thick skins that protect the fruit from pesticide build-up.

Choose: Look for avocados that are still somewhat unripe and firm to the squeeze; they'll ripen nicely on your kitchen counter in a couple of days. Store at room temperature. Although you'll be using only the meat of the avocado, it's always a good idea to rinse them before you slice them open.


Bananas

Pesticide residue remains on the banana peel, which isn't eaten.

Choose: There are basically 3 stages to a ripening banana. You'll want to choose them according to how you're going to use them. Chosen green, where the peel is pale yellow and the tips are green, their taste will be somewhat tart. These work best for frying or baking in a pie. Chosen at their next stage of ripeness, where the peel is mostly all yellow, the pulp will still be firm but their starch content will have started to turn to sugar. These also work well in pies and tarts. In the last stage of ripeness, the skins will show signs of brown spots with the peel a deeper yellow color. This is when they're sweetest and work well mashed and added to baked goods like banana bread recipes. Store at room temperature. If they're unripe, you can place them in a brown paper bag to ripen. Give the bananas a quick rinse and dry before you peel them.

Broccoli

Conventional broccoli doesn't retain so many pesticides because the crop faces fewer pest threats, which means less spraying.

Choose: Look for tightly bunched flower buds on the broccoli stalks that are immature. In other words, try not to buy them if their little yellow flowers have opened. Color-wise, the broccoli should be deep green and the stalks should be firm and not rubbery. Before use, wash in a cool water bath and change the water a couple of times in the process. Store in the refrigerator crisper.

Cabbage

Cabbage doesn't hold on to so many pesticides because a ton of spraying isn't required to grow it.

Choose: Look for cabbage heads whose leaves are tight and be sure the head is heavy for its type, and firm. For most cabbage varieties, you'll want to make sure the outer leaves are shiny and crisp. Savoy is the exception to this rule, as it forms a looser head and the leaves grow crinkly naturally. You'll want to avoid any with leaves that show signs of yellowing. Bok choy should have deep green leaves with their stems a crisp-looking white. Discard the outer leaves of a cabbage before using. You can wash and spin most cabbage leaves just like you do salad greens. Store in the refrigerator crisper.

Kiwi Fruit

Kiwi peel provides a barrier from pesticides. Give them a rinse before cutting.

Choose: Here's where your nose plays an important part when choosing fresh fruit. Sniff out kiwis that smell good. They should be plump and yield to a squeeze like that of a ripe pear. Steer clear from those with moist areas on their surface or any skin bruising. If unripe kiwi are all that are available, simply take them home and place them in a paper bag at room temperature with other fruits that need more time, such as bananas or pears. Store in the refrigerator crisper.

Mango

Sweet mango flesh is protected by its thick skin from pesticides. Still, you'll want to rinse under water before cutting open.

Choose: Depending on the variety of melon, look for those that are bright in color such as red, yellow, or orange. It should have a distinctive "fruity" smell. If there's no ripe-fruit aroma, steer clear. Mangoes should be slightly firm but yield to your touch somewhat -- the softer the mango, usually the sweeter it is. If the mango is too soft, there's a good chance that it will be rotten inside. Store in the refrigerator crisper.

Onions

Onions don't see as many pest threats, which means less pesticide spraying.

Choose: Look for onions that are firm, have a distinctive "oniony" smell that's not overpowering, and show no visible signs of damage or soft spots. Store in a cool, dry place or in the refrigerator.

Papaya

Pesticide residue stays on papaya skin, but be sure to give them a wash before slicing open.

Choose: Papaya colors usually range between yellow and green. Look for those that are slightly soft and show no signs of bruising or appear shriveled. If they're not fully ripened, you can toss them in the brown bag along with your unripened kiwi fruit, peaches, and pears. Once they're ripened, store in the refrigerator crisper.

Pineapples

You won't be eating the tough pineapple skin, which protects the fruit from pesticide residue. As with all your produce, you should rinse the pineapple before cutting.

Choose: Although tempting, this is one fruit that you won't want to choose if it has a strong, sweet smell. This usually means that the pineapple is overripe and has even begun to ferment. Like all other fruits, avoid any that have soft spots, and in the case of pineapples, damage to the rind. Store in the refrigerator crisper.

Ten Reasons Not To Use Microwave Oven

I have known for years that the problem with microwaved anything is not the radiation people used to worry about. It's how it corrupts the DNA in the food so the body can not recognize it. So the body wraps it in fat cells to protect itself from the dead food or it eliminates it fast.

Think of all the Mothers heating up milk in these 'Safe' appliances.

What about the nurse in Canada that warmed up blood for a transfusion patient and accidentally killed them when the blood went in dead. But the makers say it's safe. But proof is in the pictures of living plants dying.

From the conclusions of the Swiss, Russian and German scientific clinical studies, we can no longer ignore the microwave oven sitting in our kitchens.

Based on this research, we will conclude this article with the following:


1). Continually eating food processed from a microwave oven causes long term - permanent - brain damage by 'shorting out' electrical impulses in the brain [de-polarizing or de-magnetizing the brain tissue].


2). The human body cannot metabolize [break down] the unknown by-products created in microwaved food.


3). Male and female hormone production is shut down and/or altered by continually eating microwaved foods.


4). The effects of microwaved food by-products are residual [long term, permanent] within the human body.


5). Minerals, vitamins, and nutrients of all microwaved food is reduced or altered so that the human body gets little or no benefit, or the human body absorbs altered compounds that cannot be broken down.


6). The minerals in vegetables are altered into cancerous free radicals when cooked in microwave ovens.


7). Microwaved foods cause stomach and intestinal cancerous growths [tumors]. This may explain the rapidly increased rate of colon cancer in America .


8). The prolonged eating of microwaved foods causes cancerous cells to increase in human blood.


9). Continual ingestion of microwaved food causes immune system deficiencies through lymph gland and blood serum alterations.


10). Eating microwaved food causes loss of memory, concentration, emotional instability, and a decrease of intelligence.


Have you tossed out your microwave oven yet? After you throw out your microwave, you can use a toaster oven as a replacement. It works well for most and is nearly as quick.

The use of artificial microwave transmissions for subliminal psychological control, a.k.a. 'brainwashing', has also been proven. We're attempting to obtain copies of the 1970's Russian research documents and results written by Drs. Luria and Perov specifying their clinical experiments in this area.
